Saturday, February 26th, 2005This hits a little too close to home: Most folks eat when they’re hungry. Boss Hogg eats when he’s nervous. If he didn’t burn it off worrying, Ol’ Boss ‘ud weigh a ton.

One last update for the night (I hope this is the last one, since I will hopefully actually fall asleep on this next attempt): Arnold uses the line “I’ll be back” in Terminator (and sequels), Commando, and Running Man. I need to go and re-watch some other movies to see if he uses it in them as well. Does anyone know if he says it in “Total Recall,” “Kindergarten Cop,” “Twins,” Junior,” or any of his other movies?

“I think the easiest way to lose something is to want it too badly.” ~ JD, Scrubs
In an alternate reality, I would be Richie Cunningham.
Thursday, September 2nd, 2004I wish life were more like “Happy Days”.
It also makes me wonder what show my personal life is most like? Considering that there are and have been so many TV shows made, I’m sure that there must be a show that fairly closely resembles my own woeful misadventures and stumblings into the world of growing up. But what show would it be?
Someday, I’m gonna be rev.

So, I watched Zoolander again–Yes, it is incredibly stupid, and yes, I still love it anyway–and while watching it, I noticed something awesome: The Little Kings. The band hanging out at Hansel’s pad, The Little Kings, are a band composed of all midget-members. I totally saw them in concert at HFStival 2002, and I got them to sign my t-shirt. (Unfortunately, I got so sweaty that the ink ran and the signatures faded.)
Also, I gained a new motivational phrase: “I care desperately about what I do. Do I know what product I’m selling? No. Do I know what I’m doing today? No… but I’m here and I’m gonna give it my best shot.”
Shower-time Train of Thought
Tuesday, April 19th, 2005Who is the better artist?
The artist whose work is simple, accessible, direct? The artist who is loved by the masses?
Or the artist whose work is vague, ambiguous, complex, convoluted? The artist who is loved by other artists?
Both have their own merits, both have positives and negatives, but which one is best?
I suppose that it all comes down to personal values.
But if so many more people value the simple, then does that make it better? Majority rule?
And yet, if the artists are considered elite, if those who are valued by the masses value the complex, then does that make the complex better? Hierarchical/structural valuation?
